My 5-Minute Pick-Me-Up Playlist (When Work or Life Feels Heavy)
How are we only 6 days in, but have already lived a year?
Feels that way, anyway.
The politics. The headlines. The uncertainty. It's just... still loud when things were supposed to calm down after the holidays.
Amirite?
Well, that's rhetorical, since I already have had plenty of friends and clients confirm the sentiment. Don’t worry - I have a little pick-me-up. (Not pretending this is a full-blown solution by any means, but it won't hurt).
I’ve got 5 songs in 5 languages that will help you feel more upbeat in under 5 minutes.
Let’s dive in.
1. Alicante (Instrumental)- HUGEL. I first heard this song during meditation, and I highly do NOT recommend it for that, because it is actually impossible for you to not dance to this one.
2. Let’s go (English) - Jaxon Gamble. While I no longer have a corporate job, if I did, I think I’d blast this in my headphones as I walked into work.
3. Swing (Portuguese) - Sofi Tukker. I literally had no idea what the lyrics mean, and just looked them up. It’s better if you don’t know – they’re pretty pointless. The beat, though, is not.
4. Vivir Mi Vida (Spanish) - Marc Anthony. Unlike #4, these lyrics are gold, and really have to do with making the best of hard situations. Including, but not limited to, working.
5. Meravigliosa (Italian) - Gué. This beat just says, “marvellous.” Except it sounds better in Italian.
The body is smart. It responds to outside stimuli, including music. (I know, I am such a great scientist).
And because I don’t want anyone to have to do any more work, I made a playlist for y’all with these. Enjoy!
